On Milk of Poppies

And so, the days turned into nights and seasons were long and kingdoms were far far far far far away...

Dun dun daRARA-run daNANA tururutoot (3X) Dun dun daRARA-run daNANA....

HBO is the destroyer of social lives. Seriously, upon hearing Ramin Djawadi's Game of Thrones opening, you knew instantly that you would get hooked and you don't even know what the whole thing is about!

First of all, when you've read nothing about the new series and you've seen no screen shot, all you're rewarded with is a bunch of CGI eye candy of maps, seas, growing trees and possibly a montage of Harry Potter-ish sigils flashing about in your screen and the only name you recognize is Sean Bean aka that guy who died in LOTR. So you're greeted with horses and scruffy looking guys in armor and blonde monarchy and well...GREAT HAIR, what else is there?

Well alot. Besides the overwhelming eyepopping moments for guys who like melons in the front and girls who like insanely pretty boys with accents, Game of Thrones is actually very riveting and breathtaking.

I loved it so much, I vowed to read the books in sequence according to the season that comes out per year. So yes, 1 book every year before the season shows. Or you could do the reverse if you don't want spoilers...

There are other reasons too you know and thus I heed to warn those who have not watched or read anything to stop reading. I don't hold back anything MUCH.

Game of Thrones doesn't center on MAGIC and hell yeah for that! It was weird at first but season 1 proved to be very intellectually captivating concentrating on monarchy, politics and family drama. Well...there is THAT thing about the White Walkers but hey, Medieval zombies are pretty cool!

Usually, I get annoyed by shifting of character view points but it was very well distributed in both screen and books. You just can't get attached though...GRRM is the grim reaper of all good/favorite characters. He likes killing his characters in ink because it adds more drama and makes you want to hate the Lannisters, well, Joffrey more (that rat bastard! everyone hates him. he makes Voldemort look like he was giving Harry a break! P.P.S. don't mistake this reference, I am a hardcore Potterhead). It's like very addition of a character leads to a death of one and the Starks, though, quite many, aren't enough. BOOM. SPOILER.

Ahhhh the discovery that is Emilia Clarke and her hair-pulling effect whenever she has scenes with Jason Momoa. KhaleesixDrogo forever.... Because of GoT, I have hated Miri maz Dur (yes, I know here effing name by memory), and all her juju loconess. So happy she got the Salem treatment :D hahahaha

It's amazing how George makes his fans fight over which House they support and who to root for the Iron Throne but I believe his greatest achievement was of the embodiment of Peter Dinklage of Tyrion Lannister. I believe he will be the most loved and most favorite characters in the whole series for all time. He is THAT brilliant.

And again, their HAIR. Sansa, Sansa, Sansa...you put the mane of your well-bred horses to shame! She has extremely great hair that makes you wanna put it on as a wig and sing Tangled-style! And have you seen the hair of the Stark kids? I mean hello, you just wanna run your hand through Richard Madden's locks like you were shooting for a Loreal commercial and Kit Harrington, you make bed-head look bad...

Redheads are awesome!

Don't you just wanna ruffle this thing????

So you think Gossip Girl and Grey's Anatomy was filled with issues? Issues only start with Cersei Lannister. She has practically scratched off much of what's in the bad girls' bucket list. I mean, she did spawn the evil that is Joffrey. Ooohhhh Batman, why did you let Katie Holmes protect that kid? You gave him the idea! Heehoohoohaaahaa.

you gotta love the langauge as well, I mean, if you get someone to create a whole new lingo for a race you invented, then you must be someone or something really important and where can you ever find people who can cuss and scream at you but listen to them anyway because you're hypnotized by their accents?

And then there were dragons and bastards who are heroes (who apparently do not wish to kill their own kin), incestual races and the dreaded mix to all the crazy beautiful...magic.

There is too much awesomeness that I cannot write due to overwhelming feelings of oashXKJhf1234, go watch it and learn why GRRM likes to make people cry but still get paid to do it anyway.

The brilliant thing is, this show is almost impossible to cancel since GRRM has narrated everything he had wanted in lieu of writing and production of the whole series should he reach an untimely death :)
So who takes the throne? Who knows. Go watch/read now! Or else let this be done unto you

As for the reference of my title, you'll have to figure that one yourself ;)

From the Mothership and Back

What is HumanHeartNature?

Basically it is an all organic hodgepodge of beauty and health care products which me and my family are going gaga over. Why? Well one, because all products are made mostly from natural substances and materials which neither harm your skin nor your wallet and two, it supports charity. I have never been so happy to spend 300 pesos on complete hair care products which smells so good to eat that the scent could cause people to turn heads and wonder where the Fruitas stand is nearby (harhar). HHN provides a variety of products for head to toe care which doesn't leave you guilty clutching excitedly on their recycled paper bags when you leave their store or receive your order.
HHN is Pro-Philippines in the sense that it promotes indigenous means and materials in their manufacturing and sales.
HHN is Pro-Poor as it reaches out to those seeking employment and strengthens our workers in agriculture/farming and is teamed up with Gawad Kalinga and other organizations which help farmers in particular with their livelihood.
HHN is of course Pro-environment. Unlike other products who use large quantities of chemicals or synthesized materials which are harmful to our body, HHN aims to create products which prevents any toxic reactions that are also harmful to the environment.
What's not to love right? It's fairly priced, you have a variety of choices and you get to shop for charity!

AAAANNND, it is CRUELTY FREE.

I was told by my Psych prof that I looked like a cartoon...I agreed.

I have always been an artsy person (well at least I claim to be). I'm very eccentric (no duh) and partly because I love all things weird and flamboyant -looking. If my high school had no uniforms, I would probably be seen wearing weirdly matched pieces of black overhauls or whatnot. I'm not the kind of artist carries around a sketch pad and pencil (I couldn't draw if it saved my life). I am more of what you call a literal 'expressionist.' I enjoy the dramatic arts (back and frontstage). I adore literary arts and I am always fascinated and inspired by the more concrete and visual art. I can paint a little but not as well as my 'laking Nido' panganay ate and Monet-ish/AnneRiceinthemaking other ate but I'm...aiiiyyyttt. I found more comfort and satisfaction with...waitforit....cosmetics and body paint. I dunno. There's something about being able to transform the way you look through a few brush strokes and whatnot. I love it. Sometimes, I obsess about a certain art piece that I tend to think of ways to create something similar to it haha and thus I found the easiest (in my opinion anyway) and budget friendly way (I use my own skin--a reusable canvass. WARNING: Improper skin care could cause permanent damage!).

Like my writing, my 'body art' comes with a mood and sometimes, it gets stingy but I have to control it. It's pretty pesky and the art takes quite some time to complete (documentation is even longer!). Admit it, there are few non-vain people left in the world. I'm pretty sure everyone has gotten a BA on the 'know my perfect angle through my camera-phone' course. So I thought, hey, maybe I could change it up!

I guess my fascination with body art came from my childhood of Anime, Manga and YA fangirling. When I was in elementary, I've always wanted to try cosplaying. It's probably the fault of Questor Magazine, K-zone  and well...JAPAN. The hobby wasn't very popular back then and our province didn't hold much events for that. Heck, Halloween isn't even celebrated here that much and so my some crazy coincidence, an opening in High School occurred combining my love for theatre and RPG- declamation. I wrote my own piece as inpired by my favorite musical ever- A.L.Webber's The Phantom of the Opera entitled, "Masquerade." I originally opted to just wear some of my dad's coats but my mom insisted that we have a cape and mask made for the role. Yeap, that's my mom for ya. And it all paid off, I won third and I was just a sophomore back then (ahihihi, modesty aside). Something lit up that day and I just enjoyed the whole costume gig. I wasn't that fond of make up then. I didn't even know how to put them on! But thanks to yearly competitions and occasional school plays, I was given more opportunities to practice the craft. It was only during the college that I was able to attend some cons and do shoots during breaks or free times. Occasionally, I would just do some practice makeup for fun and then schedule went hectic and I said bye bye to formal Cosplay and cons and went on with creative make-up and photography. And tadaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! here are two compilations of some of my works:
Top to bottom: Ring Mistress (OC), Effie Trinket inspired makeup (Hunger Games), Black Swan, Mad Hatter, Bananach (Wicked Lovely), Misa Amane (Death Note), Ring Mistress 2, Ciel Phantomhive Female (Kuroshitsuji)

L-R: Death from the Sandman, Citizen of Capitol (Hunger Games), Selina Kyle aka Cat Woman (DC), Lady Joker (DC), Loki inspired makeup (Marvel), Bananach inspired makeup (Wicked Lovely), Vampire

All taken from 2000-12 by me. Lots more where that came from as well as makeup I did for others. I'll probably talk about my projects per collection in separate posts as well include some short tutorials and product reviews.

One of my psych professors told me that I looked like a cartoon well an anime to be exact. Funny how she said that without knowledge of my cosplaying past, haha, I thought it was because of my animated personality or something but I guess, I kind look pleasantly weird?

You what they say, you can't just major in psych without being a little crazy XD

I learn and get inspirations for my work through these people here:
Youtube artists like audfaced  (http://www.youtube.com/user/audfaced). She does great cover makeups which are easy to follow. She uses a variety of makeups which aren't necessarily hard to find nor are too expensive and some of her renditions are actually characters that I love! Not very conventional but that's what I love about her :D

Of course Michelle Phan (http://www.michellephan.com/cat/beauty), taught me the basics about makeup for any and every event. She's very meticulous and I am amazed abut her step by step methods. Also, she's an Otaku so she's fun to watch!

Also, Klaire (http://www.youtube.com/user/KlairedelysArt?feature=plcp) is one of my favorites. She makes very precise brush strokes which amazes me! All of her works should be displayed in galleries! haha

I also take some cues from Regina Belmonte (http://vivatregina.tumblr.com/) have you seen her Avatar makeup? AH-MAZ(E)-ING!

In a more contemporary sense, I love these three artists the most:

Dave Mckean -because above all, he is the most eccentric out of them. Genius.

Andy Warhol- because he is not afraid to do crazy and be crazy.

Jill Thompson- because she is not afraid of color.

I never get bored with looking at their works. Another thing I love about them? They're not afraid to be themselves :)

So here I am at trying not to be afraid of being myself haha. Make-up less me:

Note: Taken during a good day haha (count how many times I've used the word).

The Bully is Back

I have not been an active blogger or any other so-called active netizen for quite a while now and wow, do I have a lot of catching up. I've decided to revive my blog here since I ought to have some sort of space where I could vent some stuff in my head and double as archive for some uh...well actual stuff. It's practically personal and I'm not expecting anyone to actually read my posts. This just serves as a cathartic purposed but   if you do happen to drop by I hope you enjoy reading my blurbs. (Forgive typos and such since I seldom check my posts haha).

So...what have I been up to? Basically this---Senior University life. BS Psychology ain't easy I tell ya but hey , its hella fun to know the workings of the human mind and personality. Plus preparing for Med school and such (Thesis + Applications), its amazing how I still have time to do all of this. It helps, I guess.

If you've noticed the side bar labeled "Welcome to my Dollhouse," you'll encounter a description of what you can expect to read/see from my posts. I love Art. I love Science. I love Literature. And that is why I intend to mash up all of my crazy interests and talk about them here.

I don't really update on a certain cue. I update when I can, so yeah.... (I am behind maintenance of my dA Cosplay and Art group site, at least 2 chapters behind my Avengers fanfiction, 50 hours away from OJT completion and 3 tests away from finishing prelims exams, you dig?)

I forgot other points I wanted to write. I'm pretty sure I was about to write something mind-boggling and quotable and probably give you a link somewhere...So, I'll stop here.

P.S Weather's still cats and dogs so, keep safe guys and always be on alert to help others.

Philippine Storm Aftermath

It is a trying time for us and I took this time to help spread awareness of my current situation.

I do apologize for using this account to ask for your help. But this is the least that I could do.
Some of us are lucky enough to safe, warm and fed while some are need of more supplies and comfort and so if you know anyone or if you yourself would like to help in any way, it is very much appreciated.
(Let's not entertain conspiracy theories and point fingers at whose at fault,
let us all focus on the important matter at hand)
Here are some websites you can visit to learn how you can help.

Summer = Busy

This is just a filler post :O

ALOT I mean ALOT has happened in the past few er, months? since I last posted.

To put thoughts into summary:
Learned. Coped. Moved on.

Anywho, it has been a riveting start of the summer so far all because of our dreaded doomsday *due horror quartet* GRADE POSTING!

Any student from UST would know the amount of stress you get from counting the days 'til UST posts the grades online. Seriously, I've heard urban legends that 9 out of 10 students online per minute get anxiety attacks while waiting for myuste to open. Believe me, refreshing the page when it CANNOT CONNECT TO SERVER blah blah O_O seriously, tension much?
I hope the people in charge of the site maintenance could fix the system on the next posting or at least the next time we need to use it. The suspense could literally kill people...
Anywho, the wait was worth it :DDDDDDDDD

I have been quite the busy bod these past 2 weeks of summer. I am simply loving being a workhalic when it comes to stuff I'm actually interested in haha well, I actually like being one just because at times. I dunno, I can't stay put sometimes XD

I have a lot ahead of me this summer. I've actually thought about taking some subjects for Med but then due to some advice and thinking, I've decided to just enroll for NMAT reviews for July. If I do need to take some subjects I'll take them at the same time as my OJT. I do hope my friends will have fun during their summer classes and such.

This summer is actually my last real summer. I'll be so busy with my academic summer for the next two years that's why I plan to make the most of it. And seriously, my creative outlet needs reviving.

I'm dealing with alot right now, both things that I can and cannot handle. Among those involve decisions that are too hard to make at the moment. I guess these are things that test my faith-in myself and in Him. I can't and won't blame anything or anyone for the times that I feel that things are all happening too fast, I guess it's a just for life to breeze on by to get to the interesting parts. :)

There are some things that happened in the past month that I would really like to focus on and discuss but due to sensitive content and my desire to respect the privacy of a few individuals, i will refrain from doing so. I do apologize for mentioning this which I am sure causes quite a stir of curiosity to the one reading this post. Rest assured, the events that occurred and the result thereof will remain with me. :) All I have to say is, I'm glad it's over with and yes, it has all made us a bit more mature if I do say so myself.

This summer, I will revamp myself in preparation for the hectic Major-filled (not much electives on our syllabus) school year to come. Since our class doesn't start until the 21st or June, I'll make each day count. Ahhh health comes first, then leisure then sloth XD haha

Have a happy summer!

Some things on my checklist:
-fix stuff for donations, auctions and sale
-schedule 2 shoots and 1 party
-schedule family get away and friend bonding
-update EVERY site I've joined
-FINISH FP novel
-FINISH everything on my reading list
-update blog
-............complete my checklist
